There are people in the field of culture who borrow money from friends and acquaintances, or we even take food from them to survive, actress Popi Abraham told Politis 107.6 & 97.6 today, explaining the situation that has prevailed for months in the field of art, due to the pandemic . He explained that for months many artists have been without income, as a result of which they are in a very bad financial situation. There are, he said, initiatives by people of culture but also by organizations and private organizations that support artists who are facing problems at this time.
Referring to the moves made to support workers in the field of culture, she said that in essence there are two major issues that need to be resolved. One concerns the financial support of the artists that emerged from the pandemic and the second concerns the establishment of the profession for which, as he said, some efforts have already begun in the right direction. The new Parliament, said Popi Abraham, should do something for the professional team of artists. “People get the impression that we get very high salaries in the theater, but that is not the case. “There is no guarantee for cultural professionals anywhere,” he added.
