The final decision of the Nicosia Municipal Council on what to do next, after the demolition of four preserved by the Archdiocese, adjacent to the Cathedral under construction, was postponed until next Saturday. According to information from politis.com.cy, the reason for the postponement has to do with documents submitted by lawyers in the afternoon before the members of the Nicosia Board, with the result that Municipal Councilors state that they need time to study them.
For his part, the Mayor of Nicosia proposed to continue tomorrow, however, the majority finally decided next Saturday at 16:00 in the afternoon. The same information states that in addition to the documents given to the members of the Municipal Council, their views were heard, which seem to differ. However, the members of the Municipal Group of DISY continue to consider that the works in the Cathedral should be suspended, however other members of different Municipal Groups were not clearly positioned.
