    He also referred to the active Polish archaeological mission which has been in Cyprus for decades, thanking the President of the Republic for the help Poland received from the Cypriot authorities for the establishment of a Polish archaeological center in Paphos, the inauguration of which will take place within next months.

    He also added that Poland is the third nation in a row in terms of tourist traffic to Cyprus, underlining that the number of arrivals in Cyprus from Poland is expected to increase this year.

    The President of Poland also expressed the belief that the visit of the presidential couple of Cyprus will further strengthen the relations between the two countries.

    For his part, the President of the Republic said, among other things, that “Poland and Cyprus are not geographically neighboring, but it is incredible how many similarities the two countries have.

    He referred to the thousands of Polish visitors to Cyprus, noting that there are “beyond 35 flights every week, there is more demand for visits to Cyprus and we will encourage more flights from both sides and the big bet is that Poland will become the 2nd most visited country in a row of tourists in Cyprus”.

    Beyond tourism, he said, “there are huge prospects in the trade and investment sectors while he expressed satisfaction at the increase in exports from Cyprus to Poland with halloumi being so high in sales, in Poland”.

    “I want to repeat today, in the most official way, that as the Republic of Cyprus we have the political will to strengthen our relations at all levels. We have excellent relations, but at the same time there is huge scope to do more. And be sure that on the part of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus we will do everything possible”, said President Christodoulidis.

    He also referred to his visit to Krakow today where he will speak at the University with young people, saying that he is visiting Krakow because the President and his wife, when they came to Cyprus, visited Paphos, which is the city of President Christodoulidis, “so, I repay, friend President, the visit to your birthplace”.

    He expressed pride in the archaeological mission in Cyprus and assured that “as a Government we will do everything possible to help the mission”.
