The Office of the Citizen Commissioner in collaboration with the Pan-Cypriot Coordinating Committee for Child Protection and Welfare (PSEPEP) held a meeting on Thursday, at the Presidential Palace, for the reactivation of the Consultation Mechanism with the Cyprus Children's Parliament.
The Mechanism consists of representatives of the Ministries of Education, Sports and Youth , Labor and Social Insurance, Justice and Public Order, Health, Deputy Ministry of Welfare, the Commissioner for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Cyprus Children's Parliament.
In a statement from the Commissioner's office, it is stated that Commissioner Panagiotis Palates emphasized the will both the President of the Republic, as well as himself personally, to give another step to the voice of the young.
In particular, he added, through the institution of the Children's Parliament, children have the opportunity and the possibility to express their concerns and the concerns that concern them.
Mr. Palates said that his Office will assume a coordinating role between the Cyprus Children's Parliament and the Ministries, Deputy Ministries and other bodies that make up the Consultation Mechanism.
< p> The Press Representative of the Cyprus Children's Parliament, George Ephraim Christofi, expressed his particular satisfaction for the reactivation of the institution, whose operation had been suspended in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
