The president of the All-Cypriot Federation of Associations of Recreation Center Owners (OSIKA) Neofytos Thrasyvoulos stated that a decrease in attendance at recreation centers was observed in all the cities of Cyprus during the holidays.
In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Thrasyvoulos mentioned that during the days of the Christmas holidays the traffic in the tourist areas in the recreation centers was reduced by 50%. Limassol and Nicosia exceeded 80% in the reduction, while Larnaca showed a decrease of around 70%, he added.
He also pointed out that the day after Christmas, traffic increased mainly in the recreation centers of the coastal areas.
Mr. Thrasyvoulou noted, however, that these days, and especially after the New Year, the start of various events is expected, and consequently the increase in nightclubs is expected.
He also estimated that on the day after the New Year, traffic is expected to be observed. in the recreation centers of the mountainous regions.
