Political intervention on behalf of the Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos is requested in a message sent to him today by six former officials of the RIK, with the aim, as they state, of the payment of the pension they are entitled to after their retirement in 2023.
According to an announcement by the EURIK trade union, in their message the 6 employees state that they retired in 2023 from the RIK based on the new pension law, however "due to deficiencies, delays, weaknesses both of the organization and of the state”, have been led to economic hardship and impoverishment.
They add that the justification, the background, the dismissal of responsibility for the inadequacy found in the entire pension payment process is known to the General Accounting Office, the Department of Public Administration and Personnel (TTDP) and the RIK, and that none of those who have dealt with the issue cannot be pushed to resolution "due to shortcomings on the part of the RIK".
“It is requested by everyone, and it is also our fervent request, that your own political intervention finally becomes a catalyst. None of the services involved, as well as the RIK, seem to be able to provide a solution to the problem. Weaknesses in the implementation of the relevant legislation are generally identified. Our patience has run out. The unacceptable timing weaknesses of the RIK have left us financially exposed, they note. and our dignity. What we are experiencing, it is downhill, it is not an image of a favored functional state, of a modern European state”. They add that if a solution is not found soon, their other colleagues who have retired from the RIK will be added to the group of the dissatisfied.
Co-recipients of the message, as stated, are the Ministry of the Interior , the Labor Committee of the Parliament, and the Board of Directors of RIK.
