TAXISnet – VAT ended yesterday, Tax For All starts on March 27

The operation of TAXISnet – VAT ended on March 16, 2023, the new computerized system of the Tax Department Tax For All – (TFA) will start operating on March 27, 2023, which will initially concern VAT and VIES, the Commissioner told the KYPE Sotiris Markidis of Taxation.

At the same time, he mentioned that the full operation of Tax For All will be completed at the end of 2024.

“TAXISnet – VAT was operating until March 16, 2023, while the intervening period until March 27, 2023 will be used for the safe transfer of the data to Tax For All – (TFA)”, he noted.

Mr. Markidis explained that at this stage of the implementation of the project, Individuals (Employees, Pensioners, Self-Employed) and Legal Entities who only submit declarations for Direct Tax purposes (e.g. Income Tax, Emergency Defense Levy, GeSY etc.) as they will continue (at this stage) to submit their declarations through the Taxisnet System and use the tax portal.

“Tax For All – (TFA) is the unified Tax Management System of the Tax Department which will bring under the same umbrella almost all existing systems of the Tax Department”, he underlined.

He added that the Tax For All – (TFA) will upgrade both the internal operation of the Department, thus making it more efficient and effective, as well as the electronic services to businesses, their advisors and citizens/taxpayers, creating a user-friendly environment.

According to the Tax Commissioner, Tax For All is expected to be completed in 3 stages: In the first stage, the implementation of the project will concern VAT and VIES, while in the second and third stages it will concern Direct Taxation and is expected to be completed at the end of 2024.

“Our priority is the safe transfer of data from the existing systems to the new Tax For All – (TFA) system”, he emphasized.

He also mentioned that through the Tax For All Taxpayer Portal of TFA – Tax For All, whose first stage concerns VAT, the following functions will be available at this stage: Submission of VAT declarations, VIES and Special Status of City Taxis, submission of a detailed statement of data for the Special VAT Status for Farmers, view and print statements of tax accounts, declarations, payments, tax refund requests, make payments, issue certificates and send and receive messages from and to the Tax Department.

Mr. Markidis told the KYPE that the Tax Department, wanting to facilitate users in this transitional stage, will extend the date of submission of VAT Returns as follows:

He said that to serve users in the transition process, a service center has been organized regarding the use of TFA for VAT purposes. and VIES and added that those affected will be able to call the five-digit number 17700 and/or the 8-digit number 22803803 for international calls.

Finally, the Tax Commissioner said that the coordination of the project has a large team, which is working diligently for the most effective implementation of the project.

“We are alert and will face any difficulties that arise with the aim of always providing the best service to the citizens”, he concluded.
