The demands for justice and punishment for all those responsible for the death of Thanasis Nikolaou were brought out again on Saturday outside the Legal Service during the Cyprus-wide protest, held by his family.
The the mother of national guard Thanasis Nikolaou, Adriana, on the occasion of the completion of two years since the remains of her child were exhumed in order for them to be re-examined, she emphasized that not a single arrest has yet been made and no one has been punished.
Mrs. Nikolaou stated that the day coincides with Human Rights Day, which have been "trampled to the fullest" in the case of Thanasis, "not only by those who caused his death, who were still allowed to circulate free and unpunished among us for 17 whole years, but also by the State,", as he said.

"No Attorney General and no court can bring my child back, but they must deliver justice by arresting his killers", said Ms. Nikolaou.

It is noted that Mrs. Nikolaou spoke yesterday at KYPE and stated that “the State should have been by our side from the beginning and supported us, since our child was in the army and served the Republic of Cyprus.” Instead of supporting and siding with us, he was fighting us. Seventeen whole years forced us to accept that our child was a suicide, he said.
Saying that it has now been scientifically proven that Thanasis was beaten on purpose and strangled, he noted that "we cannot forget these things. that they have done for so many years»?, demanding that those responsible for impunity be held accountable.
