The bad weather “Elpis” that has been affecting Greece since yesterday is evolving without significant problems.
Many parts of the country have been “dressed in white” while there is a sharp drop in temperature and snowfall since the early hours of Saturday with the weather becoming even more intense, with temperatures fluctuating in most parts of the country, still below zero and in the center of Athens.
The temperature will fluctuate throughout the day at very low levels and will not exceed 04 to 07 degrees Celsius in most areas. According to EMY, the minimum temperature in many continental areas will range between -06 and -08 degrees while in places in the northwest will be -15 degrees Celsius.
In the meantime, a new meeting will be held today at noon under the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Stylianidis, regarding the evolution of the “Elpis” bad weather. The meeting will be attended by all stakeholders, while the focus will be on the second wave of bad weather as well as the optimal coordination of the relevant bodies in order to keep the country functional despite the severe weather conditions.
At the same time, on Sunday afternoon, announcements will be made regarding whether the schools will be open from Monday to Wednesday, due to the heavy snowfall that is expected.
