The granting of an urban planning permit by the Council of Ministers for the creation of the new training center in Geri was without a doubt something that delighted everyone in Omonia and especially those who “ran” the whole issue.
It was something that took time since with the “good morning” of the assumption of the football department by Stavros Papastavrou the issue became a priority.
Now the water is in the ditch, but there are things that need to be done and will need some bureaucracy again. Based on the data before us, this will not happen in 2021 but the team leaders hope to do so before April.
Specifically, an application must be submitted to the Municipality of Geri for a building permit. Once secured, the papers should be submitted to the relevant services. Afterwards, tenders will be announced by the CMO, since because sponsorships will be given for part of the work that will be done, this procedure must be followed.
Once all this is done and the bulldozers are in, the work will take about a year.
However, all existing buildings will be demolished and replaced by a new, modern building. Four stadiums of normal dimensions will be built where there will be space to accommodate a certain number of fans while the main building of “Elias Pullos” will be divided into several wings.
