An appeal to the public not to participate in the dubious origin custom of lambratzia, the Municipality of Strovolos calls on young people in particular “to make a difference this year and avoid this activity which threatens both the safety of themselves and the rest of our fellow human beings”.
In its announcement, the Municipality also reminds that the legislation prohibits the burning of materials, objects and waste in residential areas so as not to endanger the public health and physical integrity of citizens, noting that offenders may face fines and/or imprisonment.
“In the event that any person detects an accumulation of wood for lampreys in open spaces, please contact the phone number 99637092 weekdays, during the hours of 7:30-15:00 and the phones 22470470 and/or 99643044 during the rest of the hours”, concludes the announcement of the Municipality.
