The “Code of Principles and Rules of Ethics for the Members of the House of Representatives” has been made public, which will soon be brought before the Plenary Session of the House for approval.
According to what is written in the Code, the “Deputies” in the exercise of their duties do not receive and do not accept any gift or other gratuitous provision other than purely complimentary and / or minor value souvenirs which are offered as part of the ritual practice, either inside or outside the Republic, in the context of official visits, meetings or parliamentary missions, provided that the estimated value of each such gift does not exceed one hundred and fifty (€ 150) euros “.
In addition, reference is made to the issue of transparency, where as the Code notes, each Member of Parliament must “exercise in particular his duties on the basis of the principles of selflessness, integrity, objectivity, responsibility, transparency, accountability, honesty, integrity and confidentiality.”
The “Code of Ethics Principles and Rules for the Members of the House of Representatives” is divided into five parts, the “General Provisions”, the “Principles and Rules of Ethics and Transparency”, the “Gifts and Benefits”, the “Obligation to disclose conflicts of interest” “, As well as the” Investigation of complaints and application of provisions of the Code of Ethics “.
