The death of Giorgos Koronidis, 35 years old from Paralimni, who died in a traffic accident that occurred on the evening of the 29 June.

As Steve Theodoulou, Assistant Head of the Paralimni Police Station and Press Officer of the Famagusta Police Station, reported to KYPE, “today Friday, the legal autopsy was performed on the body of 35-year-old George Koronidis, who died in a traffic accident that occurred on the evening of Wednesday 29 June in Paralimni”.

He added that “the autopsy was performed by medical examiner Angeliki Papetta and according to the findings the 35-year-old's death was caused by multiple injuries to the body and vital organs as well as a spinal fracture as a result of a road collision”.

It is recalled that the accident occurred shortly before eight o'clock on the evening of Wednesday, June 29, when a 36-year-old woman, a resident of Paralimni, was driving her vehicle on Korai Street in Paralimni, heading towards the Deryneia – Paralimni roundabout.

However, at some point on the road, in her attempt to turn right, the woman stopped and collided with a motorcycle driven from the opposite direction by Giorgos Koronidis, a 35-year-old resident of Paralimni.

From the collision the driver of the motorcycle, who was wearing a protective helmet, was thrown onto the asphalt and was transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital f Paralimni and then, after being intubated, he was transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital, where he ended up in the early hours of Thursday, June 30.
