Last Monday, the Municipality proceeded with the announcement of the competition for the creation of a Historical Documentation Center in the city of Pafos, with the project including a Museum to highlight and promote the history of the city and the regeneration of square spaces and roads in the area.
According to a related announcement by the Municipality of Paphos, the central idea that runs through the project is the creation in the heart of the historic center of Paphos of a pocket of culture and architectural heritage with high-quality infrastructure for pedestrians. Through the project, the Municipality of Paphos aims to create a bridge of memory and architecture between the Museum of Historical Memory and the exterior of the old town, it is noted.
The project, the value of which is estimated at € 9,500,000 plus VAT (€11,305,000) includes, among others, the complete restoration and reuse of the old police station building as a historical documentation center for the city of Paphos, the addition and extension of the building to cover the needs of the new use and the configuration of the area from the old police station to the Armenia Park.
