Signatures have fallen, the cost of the project is 2.4 million
Construction work is scheduled to start immediately after the Easter holidays with a duration of 18 months.
Ten projects worth 40 million euros are planned for the next three years in Larnaca, with the aim of upgrading the city center and creating green spaces in the city. This effort also includes the creation of the “Municipal Park SALINA”, on the site of the former Residence of the District and Police Director for use by the citizens.
On the morning of Thursday, March 16, the signatures of the project between the Municipality of Larnaca and the Consortium Wade Adams Contracting (Cyprus) Limited – AKI Constructions Ltd JV.
The design will include among others:
; active and passive entertainment areas
The cost of the project amounts to € 2,439,687.00 + VAT
; healthy development and revitalization of the urban environment
; improvement and promotion of the area by enriching the existing planting , with appropriate landscaping and the inclusion of modern elements that are consistent with the space
· creation of new jobs both during the construction of the park and during its operation, improvement of environmental parameters with proper planning, attraction of residents and visitors of all ages
; expanded access and use for the disabled

· functional, aesthetic and qualitative improvement of the space
; correlation of the space with the surrounding area and with the area of the Municipal Garden of Larnaca.
As stated in an announcement by the municipality of Larnaca, the redevelopment of the area will be such that it will be a green lung and a point of entertainment, sports, rest and social interaction .
The main aim is to give the area and the city center in general a character and atmosphere that satisfies the expectations of its residents and visitors. Also, the achievement of sustainability in relation to the improvement of the environment and the quality of life.
The cost of the project amounts to € 2,439,687.00 + VAT and may be co-financed by the European Union within the framework of program “THALEA 2021-2027”, the Republic of Cyprus and the Municipality of Larnaca.

It is noted that the study of the project was carried out by the architect Mrs. Elena Sofianou Olympiou with a team of consultants, after an Architectural Competition.
