As part of a workshop with the participation of all involved, workshops were held with the aim of preparing the Action Plan.
The conference held by the National Betting Authority for the presentation of the Safe Gaming Strategy 2022 – 2025 was crowned with great success. The event took place in the presence of the Citizen's Commissioner, Mr. Panagiotis Sentonas and representatives of other stakeholders in the field of betting and prevention.
During the day, interactive workshops were held, based on the pillars of the Safe Gaming Strategy. In the framework of the workshops, useful and substantial conclusions were drawn, which will significantly contribute to the elaboration of an Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy.
The Safe Gaming Strategy reflects EAS's vision to make Cyprus a fair and secure center for development and innovation in the gambling sector, with a focus on player protection and the well-being of society as a whole. & Nbsp; In particular, the Safe Gaming Strategy provides the framework for adopting a holistic public health-based approach to safe gambling. The public health model on the one hand ensures the safety of players and society and on the other hand exploits the social and economic benefits of betting and gambling. & Nbsp; At the same time, it will guide the Authority in the design, development, implementation and monitoring of coordinated and documented initiatives and actions to reduce the harmful effects associated with betting and gambling. It is worth noting that the Safe Gaming Strategy 2022-2025 is based on four strategic goals/priorities:
Creating the conditions that will help stakeholders to protect society from the harmful effects of gambling and gambling, through the formulation of policies to guide and support stakeholders in the implementation of public health protection measures, to provide incentives to stakeholders for cooperation and the creation of a supportive environment for players.
Preventing harmful consequences through greater public awareness, the implementation of safe gambling practices and the provision of resources and support. In particular, the Safe Gaming Strategy provides for the implementation of a series of awareness campaigns and safe gaming tools for the general population and the mobilization of society as a whole for the development of targeted messages and interventions for specific high-risk groups.
Providing the support needed by people affected by the harmful effects of gambling and gambling, when they need it, with the aim of improving the health and well-being of the population by enhancing treatment and reducing stigma. The strategy also provides support for the introduction of diagnostic tests and treatment services in various environments/sectors.
