Theano Thiopoulou

More and more expensive fuels were sold in the first nine months of 2021 compared to last year, while in September the difference was very small. Last year was a special year with restrictions on the movement of citizens with the result that fuel sales are lower but also cheaper because the energy crisis had not appeared. Yesterday, the Statistical Service announced that sales of unleaded gasoline from gas stations were 30,073 tons in September, an increase of 0.3% compared to last year, while in the first half of the year sales increased by 8.1%.

It is also interesting how the prices went. More specifically in the category of gasoline, the consumer price index reached 105.93 points from 88.31 last year, marking an increase of 19.95%. In oil, the consumer price index was in September this year at 107.70 points from 90 last year, recording an increase of 19.66%. The price index for LPG (bottle) was 91.45 points last September and this year 118.63, recording an increase of 29.72% while the price index for lubricants remained at almost the same levels.
