The money belonged to the company he works for

A 20-year-old man allegedly admitted that he falsely reported that he was the victim of a robbery in Limassol and that unknown persons took 13,448 euros from him, money from the company where he worked. The young man allegedly indicated where he hid the money, which was handed over to the manager of the company.

According to the Police, the 20-year-old complained that shortly before one in the afternoon, while he was inside his parked vehicle, in parking area of ​​the Tsirei Stadium, an unknown person approached him and, under the threat of a knife, took the sum of 13,448 euros from him.

The money, as he stated, belonged to the company he works for and that he had withdrawn it from banking institutions, earlier today.

Members of the Police went to the scene, who carried out examinations, while being interrogated at the TAE Limassol, the 20-year-old allegedly admitted that his complaint was false and indicated the place where he hid the amount of money.

After further examinations, the amount of money was found and handed over to the company manager, while the 20-year-old, after being interrogated again, was accused in writing and released to be summoned before the Court later.

Agios Ioannis Police Station is investigating the case, which concerns the offense of public harm.
