Health Actions
Alpha Bank continuously supports the Annual Week of Awareness and Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease organized by the Cypriot Association of Friends of Kidney Diseases (PSFN), as well as the annual “Walk of Love” organized by the Cypriot Association for Children with Cancer and Related Diseases “One Dream” A Wish”, financially supporting both links. At the same time, in recent years the Bank has actively contributed to the promotion of blood donation, organizing voluntary blood donation with the participation of its Staff.
Actions for Society
The contribution and support to Cypriot society is an integral part of Alpha Bank's strategy which implements actions aimed at supporting vulnerable social groups. In this direction, the Bank has always supported Europa Donna Cyprus, where, among other things, in the context of International Women's Day, it financially strengthened the Organization. At the same time, it supports the Love Wagon, but also the annual campaign “Adopt a family at Easter” of the Pan-Cypriot Volunteer Coordinating Council, offering gift vouchers to supermarkets for the purchase of basic necessities.
At the same time, the Bank has always been at the side of the children of the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Makarios Hospital, offering financial support both to the “Little Heroes” Foundation and to the Hope for Children CRC Policy Center of the international humanitarian independent organization, for the purchase of equipment for the “Homes of of Hope”. In addition, on the occasion of World Rare Diseases Day, Alpha Bank supported the Pancypriot Association of Rare Genetic Diseases “Unique Smiles”, offering the necessary equipment for the purposes of the educational programs it implements at the Multidisciplinary Assessment and Intervention Center.
Actions for Education
An important chapter for Alpha Bank is the initiatives and actions in the field of Education, supporting the “All children with school supplies” campaign, offering needy students gift vouchers for the purchase of necessary school supplies, rewarding students and students for their performance and strengthening financially the associations of parents in order to support needy students.
It also implements the pioneering program “Parents and Children TOGETHER at work”, where working parents bring their children to the workplace to familiarize them with the Bank and the financial system in general. Finally, Alpha Bank implements the educational program “Currency and Transactions: From Yesterday to Today”, where a specially designed museum suitcase travels to high schools and primary schools throughout Cyprus and presents the history of currency and the evolution of transactions in the Greek area , from ancient times until today.
Actions for Sports
Alpha Bank participates in sporting events with a charitable character, contributing to the promotion of the sporting ideal and noble competition and at the same time strengthening the charitable work of the events.
Actions for the Environment
Always environmentally conscious, Alpha Bank adopts eco-friendly practices such as recycling PMD power, paper, batteries and ink cartridges, has a process for destroying and recycling unarchived documents in its offices and participates annually in WWF's global Earth Hour initiative.
Human Resources Actions
Alpha Bank's people are a valuable asset for the organization, with the Bank encouraging their personal development, two-way communication and their participation in achieving the goals. The Bank has received the “Equality Employer” certification, a distinction that confirms its commitment to the promotion of gender equality in the working environment.
