The & nbsp; Industrial Production Index for April 2022 increased by 0.6%, compared to April 2021, reaching & nbsp; 126 units (base 2015 = 100), & nbsp; according to data from the Statistical Service published on Wednesday.
According to the data, in the manufacturing sector, the most significant positive changes compared to April 2021 occurred in the production of textiles, clothing and leather goods, which increased by 54.5%, in the manufacture of furniture and repair/installation of machinery and equipment, with an increase of 13.6% & nbsp; and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment, by 4.2%.
The most significant negative changes were observed in the activities of manufacturing electronic and optical products and electrical equipment, where a decrease of 33% was recorded, of paper and paper products and printing, with a decrease of 17% & nbsp; and wood industry and manufacturing of wood and cork products, except furniture with a negative change of 9.9%.
In addition, during the period January – April 2022, the index increased by 3.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
During this period, the most significant increases are observed in the economic activities of production of textiles, clothing and leather, which increased by 60.4%, collection, treatment and supply of water by 43.5%, electricity supply by 16, 1%, construction of furniture and repair/installation of machinery and equipment, by 12.6% & nbsp; and construction of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment, with an increase of 5.4%.
Activities The most significant reductions in production compared to the period January – April 2021 were those of the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment, which decreased by 16.6%, the recovery of materials by 14.2%, the manufacture of paper and paper products and printing with 13.1%, of the wood industry and manufacture of wood and cork products, except furniture with 9.5%, of mines and quarries, with 8.8% decrease & nbsp; and the manufacture of non-metallic mineral products, with a decrease of 6.9%.
