The “Cyprus – Tomorrow” Plan is the culmination of the effort that has been made over the last 10 years, despite the financial crisis, despite the pandemic , and as a result, the Government has already created a welfare state one and a half times larger in spending than what it received, stated the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Ms. Anastasia Anthousi.
Speaking at an event for the presentation of the “Cyprus – Tomorrow” Plan, at the Mall of Cyprus in Nicosia, the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare stated that “Cyprus – Tomorrow” is a Plan that the Anastasiades Government leaves as a legacy for the next generation to face the challenges.
As for the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, through the “Cyprus – Tomorrow” Plan we aspire to support all vulnerable groups. The Plan envisages the creation of infrastructure, emphasizing the family and the child. The Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, Ms. Anthousi said, utilizing the potential of the Plan, will proceed with the creation of 25 nurseries, so as to increase children's access to care and education services from an early stage of life and, at the same time, help them parents, especially women, to reintegrate more quickly into the labor market.
Continuing, the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare pointed out that at the same time promoting day care structures both for adults with disabilities as well as for the elderly. However, because the primary goal is also the children under the care of the State, he said, alongside the promotion of the foster care law, there is provision to create new and modernized Children's Homes, so that every child who he didn't have a chance to have his own space, to have a healthy environment to grow up.
