Talk about the next day in the Limassol team
The expected happened at the general assembly of Apollo, with Nikos Kirzis remaining in the presidency and being invited to lead the Limassol team on the following day. The contacts with Bogdan Antone are already at an advanced stage and apart from a shocking prospect, the Romanian coach will take over the “building” of last year's champions for the new season.
We also remind you that the negotiations with Makis Papaioannou, who is a candidate to assume the duties of chief scout, are also ongoing. If we don't have a “shipwreck”, the technical director of New Salamina will act as a connecting link between the team and the management.
After the above is completed, the next concern will obviously be the staffing of the roster for the new season. The discussion will probably be different if the group of the 48-year-old coach manages to get a European ticket, as otherwise it is expected that the budget will not be the same. Also, if the team is satisfied with the domestic competitions, it is normal that the roster will also “shrink”.
In the first year, however, the renewals chapter is entered, as is the one concerning footballers with a contract who are not counted. After the departure of Basel Zradi and Ezekiel Hedy, the number of players who are out of contract at the end of the season has been reduced to nine. Among others, Valentin Roberges and Amr Warda belong to this category, with the intention of their stay being more than a given and therefore in the next period we expect to have definitive developments.
It is also noted that in the contract of Giorgos Loizou (t), Carlos Peisoto (t), Bakali Dabo, Nicolas Dighini, Haris Mavria, Haitam Alesami, Vukasin Jovanovic and Ido Sahar, who is on loan from Maccabi Tel Aviv, is nearing its end. The cases of the above players as well as some others who this year competed little to nothing (e.g. Josten and Ba) are expected to be re-evaluated by the technical team, which will of course judge their stay or not.
From there, the process of finding footballers who will be acquired in the next season is also underway, with the name of Diego Doregarai having already seen the light of day. Regardless of whether the Argentinian will be acquired in the end, the only thing certain is that next summer will bring several changes to Apollon, who will need to appear wiser than the mistakes of the current season.
