40% of normal for February, the average amount of rain that fell in the free areas from the 1st to the morning (08:00) of the 16th of the current month, according to preliminary data The Meteorological Department announced on Wednesday.
According to the data, the average total amount of rainfall from the 1st to the morning of the 16th of February was 32.5 mm, compared to 81.6 mm which is the normal rainfall for the month.
The highest amount of rainfall during the same period was recorded in Pano Panagia with 74.7 mm which corresponds, however, to 65% of the normal rainfall for the month of February.
Next are the Cross of Psoka with 71.6 mm which corresponds to 53% of the normal, the Forerunner with 62.5 mm which corresponds to 43% of the normal and the Platanias with 55.3 mm and with 38% of the normal .
On the contrary, according to the data of the Department of Meteorology, the least amount of rain during the period 1 to 16 February was recorded in Lythrodontas with only 13.8 mm which corresponds to 20% of the normal for the month, in the Larnaca airport area with 13.6 mm with 23% of the normal for the month and in the Athalassa area in Nicosia with 15 mm which corresponds to 32% of the normal.
