The candidate Mayor of Strovolos, Christos Tsigis, in a written statement in relation to Sunday's severe weather in Strovolos, expresses the position that it is necessary to create a Civil Protection and Crisis Management Office in the Municipalities, noting that there is an urgent need to strengthen prevention measures in the every Municipality, with the aim of protecting and well-being of our citizens and their property.
He adds that “through the systematic approach and cooperation, we can strengthen the ability of the Municipality of Strovolos to deal effectively with any possible crisis , with the appropriate machines, with the continuous special training of the competent staff and with the institutional responsibility of the competent officials who should provide – with the means and data they have, before all this happens”.
