The updated National Report on the coronavirus pandemic was issued on Friday, December 24, 2021 by the Ministry of Health. As of December 20, 2021, 144,311 cases of COVID-19 had been diagnosed in the Republic of Cyprus, with 625 deaths due to COVID-19 (COVID-19 mortality: 0.4%).

The cumulative impact of 14 days of COVID-19 (diagnosed cases of 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants) is 906.

On December 22, 2021, 176 people with COVID-19 (diagnosed by December 20) were hospitalized (based on recorded data, including those who were discharged, transferred, or died that day). Their median age was 64 years (Intra-Quarter range: 52 – 75 years), with 54% (n = 95) concerning men and 36.3% (n = 62) individuals from the province of Nicosia (from 171 persons with relevant information available). In total, 73 (55.3%) people with COVID-19 who were treated reported underlying diseases (out of 132 people with the relevant information available).
