At the great Defense and Security exhibition DEFEA – Defense Exhibition Athens 2023, which will take place from May 9 to 11 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, Cyprus will participate for the second time with its own National Pavilion.

As stated in a statement by the Cyprus Business Association Research and Innovation Center (KSEEK), the National Pavilion organized by the association and under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence, will host 6 innovative Cypriot companies members of KSEEK and the emerging Cyprus Defense Industry, which are active in research and commerce in the field of defense and security.

SignalGeneriX, Cyric, Cellock, Amadema, Additess and Encorp are participating in the Cypriot stand, which will present innovative Cypriot defense products to the international market. It is noted that the Cypriot defense industry has shown rapid growth with the participation of Cypriot companies in 10 projects under the European Defense Industry Development Program (EDIDP) and in 7 projects under the European Defense Fund (EDF) with a total budget of 172.5 million euro.

The presence of numerous diplomatic missions and 350 representatives of leading defense companies from 27 countries confirms the fact that DEFEA is a point of reference for the wider region of Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean in which Cyprus plays an important role.

It is reported that in addition to Cyprus, Armenia, Austria, France, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, India, Israel, Italy, China, will participate in this year's DEFEA with national stands. the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as the European Commission with the Directorate-General for Defense Industry and Space.

Also within the framework of DEFEA's work, events and workshops in the field of defense industry will be organized while in the foreground will be European and NATO initiatives, such as the European Defense Fund (EDF Cross-Project Conference) and the Innovation Fund (NATO Innovation Fund).

On behalf of the Cypriot participation, the president of KSEEK o Dr. Tasos Kounoudis said that "it is extremely important for the Cypriot Defense Industry and for our businesses that we participate for the second time in a row with a National stand at DEFEA. We are particularly proud that Cypriot innovative companies are now continuously presenting their products in new markets as well as in the largest defense exhibitions worldwide with multiple benefits for the economy of Cyprus.
