In a written announcement made public on the occasion of the official visit of the Minister of Defense of Israel to Cyprus, the "Foreign Ministry" in the occupied territories he characterized the support of the Republic of Cyprus as a development that has "negative implications for the peace and stability of the region and leads to an arms race".
According to the Press and Information Office and the "Kimbris Postassi", the announcement states the following: "" politics leads to an arms race. Certain states, knowingly or unknowingly, encourage this aggressive policy of the Greek Cypriot administration of southern Cyprus, which poisons the environment of peace and stability. We consider the official visit of the Israeli Defense Minister to be part of this context. We would like to remind the Israeli authorities that the Greek Cypriot side has no right to speak or act on behalf of the Greek Cypriot government and the Greek Cypriot people.
The statement also notes that the /k side is willing to "establish good relations with Israel".
