A new decree issued by the Minister of Health, Konstantinos Ioannou, extends until January 10 the obligation of the owners of nursing homes and accommodation structures to conduct examinations for COVID-19 to the staff and the residents.
Specifically, as mentioned in the decree issued on Monday, January 4, owner and / or manager and / or manager of nursing homes, care units for the elderly, centers for the chronically ill, structures and hostels for vulnerable groups, hostels for temporary accommodation, hostels for temporary accommodation and hosting , is obliged to comply with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health for conducting molecular examination and / or rapid detection of antigen for COVID-19 Coronavirus disease for staff and occupants and / or residents in the structures mentioned in this Regulation.
The decree also states that persons who are placed in a state of self-restraint in accordance with the provisions of Regulations 2.8 (c) and 2.12 (b) of the Infectious Diseases (Definition of Measures to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus COVID-19) Decree (No. 30) 2020, either undergo a molecular test for COVID-19 coronavirus disease on the 10th day of self-limitation at their own expense and the self-limitation is terminated on the basis of a negative molecular test result, or released on the 14th day of self-limitation on the grounds that it is not positive for coronavirus COVID-19, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
It is also noted that employers prepay the cost of accommodation of the above persons, for their mandatory restriction to hotels and / or tourist accommodation with which the Ministry of Tourism has contracted and the cost of conducting two molecular tests for Coronavirus COVID-19 (a test upon their arrival and a repeat test on the 10th day of the mandatory restriction) and the mandatory restriction is terminated, meaning that the result of the molecular test is negative.
It is understood that the total implicit costs which are paid in advance by the employers are determined by the Council of Ministers.
This Decree enters into force immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
