The Queen's daughter said, “I am grateful for the support and understanding of my beloved brother Charles who accepted the responsibilities of the Monarch”

Through a statement released by the palace, Princess Anne, who accompanied her mother from Edinburgh to London on her last flight, expressed her thoughts on her death and how lucky she was – as she says – to spend the last hours of her life with the Queen .
More specifically, the Queen's daughter stated:
“I was lucky to spend the last 24 hours of my dear mother's life with her. It was an honor and a privilege to accompany her on her final journey. Witnessing the love and respect from so many on these trips has made me humbled yet happy.
We will all have unique memories to share. Thank you to everyone who shares with us our sense of loss. It reminds us how catalytic her presence was and her contribution to our national identity so much that we took her for granted.
I am grateful for the support and understanding of my beloved brother Charles who accepted the responsibilities of the Monarch.
To my mother, the Queen, I thank you”.
