The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, expressed great satisfaction with the result achieved for ATA tonight.

When asked, President Christodoulidis said that "within the context of the election campaign we referred to many issues, one was the ATA, another was the four-month period and another was the separation between the legal advisor of the state and the public prosecutor. All this has been put into motion, we are slowly seeing results.
To express again my satisfaction with the agreement, to thank everyone and within the framework of our pre-election promises, what we announced, what we promised to the Cypriot people, our social contract with the Cypriot people we will keep until our last promise. ?.
In an observation by a journalist that one of his pre-election commitments was the increase of tax-free income, the President of the Republic said that “already, the Ministry of Finance has started work with external partners precisely to proceed with a more general tax transformation, the last one was in 2002. We should modernize it taking into account today's facts, such as, for example, green taxation and other issues. All this has already started, the collaboration with external partners and with the Association of Accountants has already started and, I repeat, what is recorded in our social contract with the people we will keep.
Asked about the issue of sanctions and asked to refer to the issue created for the payment of the salaries of employees in companies that have received sanctions, the President of the Republic said that "we received today new information from the USA. In the next few days we will have visits to Cyprus from both the British and the Americans to bring us additional information.
Not one, but two issues arise, and I want to be completely honest when I talk to you. It is the issue of payments and it is the issue that arises with the Registrar of Companies. Some of our compatriots would like to make some changes in relation to the companies that are active. We discussed both issues with the Legal Service – we even have a legal opinion – I also discussed them with the Governor of the Central Bank and early next week we will have developments, with our priority being the issue that concerns all those who are employed, who are employees in these companies, so that their salary data will not be affected.
