Almost 11 billion TL reached citizens' debts in personal loans and credit cards, until the end of September, according to data from the “central bank”.
According to Halkin Sesi's front-page article, individual consumer borrowing reached 10 billion 983 million Turkish lira, which is an all-time record.
Data from the “central bank” show that in 86, 2% (9 billion TL 470 million) are housing, car and consumer loans and 13.78% (1 billion 513 million TL is credit card debt. According to the data, in September 2022 personal loans increased by 37.16% and credit card debts increased by 61.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.The 9-month growth rate of personal loans in 2022 was 16.68%.
The data of the “risk center”, for which banks make mandatory notifications, show that non-performing loans in retail loans increased by 68.36% in the period September 2021-September 2022. Problem debts, which were 334 million 737 thousand TL in September last year, reached 563 million 578 thousand TL, at the end of last September.< /p>
