The First Officer of Paphos Primary Education, Dimitris Mikellidis, described today as difficult in terms of weather conditions, due to the cold, adding, however, that the schools operated normally, except for the Kindergarten and the Primary School of Panagia, which remained closed.
In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Mikellidis stated that the Kindergarten and the Primary School of Panagia were not able to function despite the fact that teachers were present at the school. He added that due to the cold and the frost that had formed, few children had gone and as a result closed the Kindergarten and the Primary School of Panagia.
Referring to the new measure “test to stay”, the First Officer of Primary Education of Paphos said that in practice it starts on Tuesday, since today was the day that cases were identified in some schools. Their contacts who have been informed will be able to take the test from tomorrow morning and stay in their schools, he said. We expect, Mr. Mikellidis continued, to see from tomorrow how the measure will be implemented in practice, noting that they hope for the cooperation of all, in order to keep the schools open.
Asked about this, Mr. Mikellidis stated that the students of half of the Primary schools of Paphos District underwent a rapid test today and tomorrow the procedures will be followed in the other half.
