The International Humanitarian Organization “Hope For ChildrenCRC Policy Center and the charitable Foundation “Christina A. Apostolou” signed a cooperation protocol “, aiming to implement a specially designed program to inform, raise awareness and create a culture of accepting diversity and combating the phenomenon of school bullying.

Themed “School Bullying and Acceptance of Diversity”, the two organizations will aim with the program to reduce and eliminate the phenomenon of bullying in the school environment through the art of cinema. With film critical analysis techniques and tools, students, as active viewers, will learn to read between the lines, separate the fake from the real and reject manipulation, while strengthening their critical thinking. Through this action, the cinema proves that it can educate, sensitize and awaken children in the most creative way.

This is a comprehensive and targeted action implemented in Greece by the Agency « Athens Children's Film Festival” and is aimed at students aged 4-18 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth.

In her statements, the Executive Director of “Hope For ChildrenCRC Policy Center Ms. Andria Neocleous stated: “With the continuous support and cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Culture in the implementation of educational programs in schools, we have contributed to the 15 years operation of the organization, in effectively informing children about the phenomenon of school bullying, but also in the timely management of serious incidents. With the completion of the new program, together with the charitable Christina A. Apostolou Foundation, which we thank for this collaboration, students will be able to better understand themselves and the world around them. Taking into account the incidents of violence and school bullying found in schools, such actions are imperative and we thank the Ministry. of Education that sets these issues as a priority”.

For his part, on behalf of the Christina A. Apostolou Foundation”, Mr. Andreas Apostolou added: “It is our pleasure to collaborate with the “Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center, especially on the issue of school bullying and acceptance of diversity, since the cinema – as the most influential medium of storytelling – it is a good occasion to open a meaningful discussion in the classroom and by extension at home”.
