The President of the Union of Consumers and Quality of Life, Loukas Aristodimou, was strongly critical of the way the government reacts to the wave of increases, demanding a reduction of taxes as was done in other European countries.
In some species the increases will even reach 30%, he said, noting that in Cyprus the increases have never been temporary, especially in basic necessities.
He also criticized the government for the lack of public transport, making it necessary for citizens to use private cars.
