The progress of the co-financed Smart City Project was presented on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, by the Mayor of Nicosia, Konstantinos Giorkatzis, to representatives of the European Commission, Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), as well as to the representatives of the General Directorate of Development of the Ministry of Finance.
During the presentation, there was a very constructive dialogue on the various topics that the project develops both at the level of infrastructure and vertical solutions throughout the city. Issues and challenges facing digital transformation projects across Europe at the level of legislation and wider policies were also discussed. The representatives were impressed by the project, expressing their support until its completion.
Present at the event were the Municipal Secretary of the Municipality of Nicosia Myria Pilakouta, the Smart City Project Manager Nadia Lorgier, the representatives of the European Commission, General Directorate of Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) etc. Carsten Rasmussen, Panagiotis Pantazatos, Cyprus Kyprianou and Ioannis Solomonidis, the Director of the Office of the General Directorate of Development of the Ministry of Finance Anthi Filippidou and the Officer of the General Directorate of Development of the Ministry of Finance Pambina Neocleous.
