Investigations in progress after the discovery of a dead prisoner in the central prisons. As the Cyprus Times reported in a previous report, this is a foreigner. More specifically, the police have information that the victim was attacked by another person.

Prison Department Announcement:
We regret to announce the death of a Turkish Cypriot prisoner, aged 41, the who was serving a multi-year prison sentence for various offences.
The prisoner was found by fellow inmates unconscious in his cell and staff members were immediately notified along with nurses where they rushed to the scene providing first aid, until the arrival of the ambulance however despite efforts, he had not revived.
