A total value of €300,000
The Cyprus Shipowners Association announced practical participation in the effort “Amalthia”, responding, as stated in a statement, to the effort of the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send humanitarian aid to Gaza. He welcomes the initiative, which he says has been universally recognized and praised by the International Community.
The participation was decided after consultation with the Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hatzimanoli and specifically, the Bureau of the Cyprus Shipowners Union Andreas Hatzigiannis, Polys V. Hatzioannou, George Mouskas, Haris Zachariou, Kyriakos Z. Mouskas and Nikol Mylonas) decided to participate in the aid mission through the donation of €300,000 worth of food.
< p>It is noted that the food has already been delivered to the Port of Larnaca for immediate shipment to Gaza through sea aid from Cyprus.
The Cypriot Shipowners Union supports the efforts made by the Cypriot Government, which upgrade the role of the Republic of Cyprus as a pillar of security, cooperation and solidarity in the wider region, it states.
