The US authorities have been put on alert again, as there is information about a new invasion of the Capitol by militia groups.
According to the American network CNBC, the American Capitol police department has information that shows a possible conspiracy for “violation of the Capitol by an unknown group of militias” on Thursday.
The police statement said it was working with local, state and federal agencies “to stop any threats to the Capitol,” noting: “We are taking the information seriously.”
However, no further details on the threat are being provided at this time. “Due to the sensitive nature of this information, we are unable to provide further details at this time.”
Thursday marks the date on which a group of conspiracy theorists believe that former President Donald Trump, who lost the November 3 election, will be sworn in for a second term.
