The pilot phase of the application of the “entrance ticket” for day visitors to Venice will begin on April 25.
As stated by the mayor of Galinotati, Luigi Boruniaro, in an interview with the Foreign Press Association of Rome, this pilot phase will last a total of 29 days.
The ticket will cost 5 euros and can be purchased online, securing a QR code, which will be displayed at any controls.

Boruniaro added that in this way the municipal authority will be able to foresee extraordinary flows of tourists, for a similar serving local and foreign citizens.

He finally underlined that this is not a closed number because there is no upper limit of visitors, that ticket payment will only be mandatory until 4 pm and that many other cities – in Europe and beyond – have expressed interest in this specific measure.
