The 45-year-old was arrested by the Limassol Police Department, after being chased by a stolen vehicle. Burglary tools and knives were found in his possession.
According to the Limassol TAE, at 6.50 it was reported by a 24-year-old that his double-cab vehicle was stolen, while it was parked next to his house in Zakaki.
Patrols of ADE Limassol were immediately informed, while members of the TAE went to the scene for examinations.
Around 10.30, the stolen vehicle was found moving in the area of Erimi community and an attempt was made to stop it, however the driver developed speed and tried to escape.
Other patrols were called in the area and finally the vehicle was stopped in Trachoni, while the driver got out of it and started running, to be finally arrested by a member of the Episkopi police station.
The British Base Police, which owns the area, was informed and took the suspect to its offices.
During a physical search of the 45-year-old, burglary tools and two knives were found, while he was then picked up by the members of the Limassol TAE and arrested with a court order.
The stolen vehicle was scientifically tested and returned to its owner.
According to the Limassol TAE, the suspect is allegedly involved in other vehicle thefts that were recently committed in Limassol and will be taken to court tomorrow for a detention order.
