Efforts will be made by the Archbishop of Nea Justiniana and all of Cyprus, George, so that Hellenism remains in the place where it has lived for 3,500 years now.

It is, he said, "my special emotion and my joy to come here again to Paphos, which I have loved for 27 years and I would not like to part with it and it will not be an easy parting».

The position of the Archbishop, he said, is a position of greater responsibility and through’ with this he will be able to more easily achieve his plans and his pursuits for the good of the world and especially of our country. At the very least, he said, "let's try as much as we can for our world, Hellenism, to remain in the place it has inhabited for 3,500 years now".

Asked about the Metropolitan throne and the filling of the position, the Archbishop  Georgios of Nea Justiniana and All Cyprus said that after the enthronement that will take place on January 8, 2023, the matter of the process of filling the position of the Metropolis and the Metropolitan of Paphos will be discussed, the candidates will be presented and then they will have the opportunity to think about who he will be the most suitable.

Something may be going through our minds but he has not yet found the format to be able to express himself on the microphones, he added.

As a spiritual being, we understand that man has not changed much since he appeared on earth, he said. What's more, he continued, "we said from Socrates, Aristotle to Plato".

"That which we progressed was in the material field in technology and the difference is that there was not a balanced development in both in the other field,' he added.

He also said that the charitable and social work of the Church will continue and expand. He added that in Cyprus we should develop the national role of the church which should stand as a bulwark in all the efforts made to Turkify the country.

Σ’ for this we will have the support of the entire Greek Cypriot people, but especially of this area of Pafos which has always stood in front of all the national struggles of the place, he said finally.
