The Hellenic Bank can not want to renew the collective agreement at the moment when it violates the existing collective agreement and does not take into account the decisions of the Ministry of Labor, said to KYPE the Secretary General of ETYK Christos Konomis.

Hellenic Bank had sent letters to the unions ETYK, SEK and PEO on May 2, informing that it is implementing the bank's transformation plan , which also includes staff surpluses.
According to Mr. Konomis, based on what the bank has informed them, that it intends to proceed with redundancies through surpluses, they have convened general meetings of employees of all banks on May 18 to authorize them if necessary to take action.
He also said that the Hellenic Bank has been continuously violating collective agreements for a long time and is violating the code of industrial relations.
He also noted the decision issued by the Ministry of Labor & nbsp; on 17/3 for the restoration of the salaries of the employees who come from the former Cooperative Bank of Cyprus. Since then, he said, Hellenic Bank has not complied. He referred to a violation of the law on protection and said that the Ministry of Labor should proceed with criminal proceedings against the members of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Bank.
Unfortunately, as he stated, the Ministry has not done so. He also said that they have talked to the Ministry many times and they urge it and push it to proceed as it should.
