Police have identified individuals allegedly involved in the case of spreading false news about the death of a 12-year-old after being vaccinated following a complaint to the prosecuting authorities by the Pancyprian Medical Association (PIS) and the Cyprus Pediatric Society (PEK).
In his statements to KYPE, the Police Spokesman Christos Andreou stated that “from the moment the complaint was made, the case was investigated and some persons were identified, who are said to have posted some publications related to the specific issue”.
The investigation, he noted, continues to locate possible other persons.
“These individuals will be summoned and questioned on the basis of the law regarding the crime of spreading false news, which is punishable by up to two years in prison or a fine of 2,652 euros or both sentences together,” he added.
