In the last 24 hours, the Police proceeded with 16 complaints of citizens and 12 premises for violation of the measures against the spread of the coronavirus.
In his statements to KYPE, a representative of the communication department of the Police, stated that during the last 24 hours, which ended at 06:00 on Friday morning, a total of 1,778 checks were carried out throughout free Cyprus.
Specifically, in Nicosia 554 inspections were carried out and 5 citizens and 8 premises were reported, in Limassol 171 inspections were carried out with complaints of 3 citizens and 3 premises, in Larnaca 2 citizens were reported and one person in charge of premises after 385 inspections, in Paphos no complaint, in Famagusta 6 citizens were reported after 359 inspections, while in the area of Morfos 88 inspections were carried out without any complaints.
Finally, the Traffic Departments carried out 145 inspections and the Port Authority 3 inspections without any complaints.
In the case of property complaints, in Nicosia the Police imposed a fine of € 8,000 on a property where employees without safe pass were located and six people in charge of property were out of court, who either did not have safe pass or allowed employees to work without safe pass.
An out-of-court settlement of € 8,000 was imposed in a cafeteria in Limassol after it was found that customers were not checked for a safe pass when they entered the premises. In another two premises due to the non-posting of required markings an extrajudicial € 1,000 was imposed while in company offices an extrajudicial 750 euros was imposed since an employee did not have a safe pass.
At a property in Larnaca, the Police imposed a fine of 500 euros since an employee did not have a safe pass.
