A tip that spoke of drug possession, led the Kalamata Narcotics Prosecution police officers to search the houses where two brothers aged 67 and 69 live in the Petalidi community of the Municipality of Messina, but there they discovered ancient objects which probably came from illegal excavations.

Three amphorae were found in the 67-year-old's house, a metal ritual vessel with a spout, i.e. a mouth from which the liquid content flowed, a sword and quantities of raw cannabis weighing a total of 24 grams, while in that of the 69-year-old, a clay wine jar, seven fragments of vases and amphorae, a vase mouth and a small amount of cannabis were found.

According to an archaeologist who examined the ancient objects, they date from the early and late Hellenistic period and fall under the protective provisions of the legislation, so they were confiscated to be handed over to the Ephorate of Antiquities of Messinia where their origin will be assessed and assessed.

The two brothers, who did not reveal how the ancient objects came into their hands, were arrested and charged a case file was filed against them for violation of antiquities protection and drug laws, they were taken to the District Attorney of Kalamata and after prosecution they were brought before the investigator, from whom they were given a deadline to apologize.
