According to the Press and Information Office, “Avrupa” writes that the president of the People's Party (PL), Kudret Ozersai argued that the Turkish Cypriot side should give a counter-proposal and reshape the MoU package , presented by the Greek Cypriot side, which, he said, cannot be accepted in its current form.
According to the newspaper, Ozersai also said that the a change in circumstances must be considered for Varosi, as was done in the past with the illegal airport in Tymbus.
Mr. Ozersai stated that there is no common ground between the two sides in terms of finding a “comprehensive solution”, while adding that even when Ms at intervals “different elements” were added to the MOUs, even temporarily, the negotiations for a permanent solution in Cyprus collapsed.
Commenting on the MOUs, Mr. Ozersai expressed the opinion that from a diplomatic point of view watchtowers are a “maneuvering tool”.
