The Audit Service could employ the director and deputy director of the prisons, if the request they have submitted for their secondment is granted, to another department of the public service, said Auditor General Odysseas Michaelidis.< /p>
Speaking to Trito, Mr. Michaelidis stated that because the two affected have reported a corruption case, the Audit Service, as an independent institution, could employ them while providing them with protection at the same time.
Referring to a letter he sent to the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Finance, officially submitting the relevant request, Mr. Michailidis pointed out that there are needs in the Audit Service, however it will not be about filling vacant organizational positions.
He also clarified that, in case the move takes place, the two affected will not they have to do with the checks carried out in prisons, the police or the Ministry of Justice.
