Phizer has announced that an antiviral pill it has developed against Covid-19 reduces hospitalizations and deaths in high-risk patients by 90%. This is likely to bring the pandemic up and down, especially at a time when you are once again experiencing an outbreak.
Following these encouraging results, Phizer intends to apply for licensing of the drug to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “as soon as possible,” she said.
This is the second anti-viral pill that is in the study stage after yesterday's approval by the competent British body of the pill of the also American pharmaceutical company Merck (MSD in the rest of the world).
