The councils of the People's Depositors' Association (SYKALA) and non-institutional holders of bank securities (SYKATA) have decided to recommend to their members the support of the candidacy of Nikos Christodoulidis in the upcoming presidential elections.
As they state in today's announcement, the councils of the two associations, "after having met repeatedly, separately and jointly and after considering the will and the decisions of both their bodies, as far as the upcoming presidential elections are concerned, they decided to recommend to their members the support of the candidacy of Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis for the supreme office of the President of the Republic».
As they state, "after more than ten years of state inaction and devaluing the individuals who were deprived of their life savings to save the state and the financial system, the above decision was taken after exhaustive reflection, democratic dialogue and away from any political and partisan perceptions, guided only by the interest of those groups who paid for the injustice of the 2013 decisions, as everyone now admits.
«Having judged his proposals serious and credible, we expect Mr. “Nikos Christodoulidis, when and if he is elected, not only to honor the things he assured us about, but also to improve them”, concludes the announcement signed by the president of SYKALA Adonis Papakonstantinou and the president of SYKATA Stavros Giallouridis.
