The 24-hour warning strike called for Wednesday, November 30, by the Branch Council of Employees of the Technical Structure of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance is suspended.
Representative of the employees of the Department, consisting of 278 employees of the Technical structure and 20 employees of the Scientific structure, told KYPE that an agreement has been reached with the employer side and therefore the strike measures are postponed. As he mentioned, the content of the agreement will be announced on Wednesday by PASYDY.
In their statement, they state that the employer has committed to satisfy the request of the Social Insurance Services Employees Branch and an announcement is expected from the PASYDY union.
Earlier, in a statement, the union stated that the reasons drove the officers of the Technical Structure to strike is the lack of information and participation of the branch council of the Service in the decision of the competent authority in 2021 for the restructuring of the Social Insurance Services Department.
The restructuring included the gradual abolition of vacancies at the base of the Technical Structure, 26 A2-5-7 posts in the year 2023, “turning the Technical structure into a declining one with the aim of abolishing it”.
It also included the creation of 2 new positions in the Technical structure in the scale A11(ii) and 2 in A10(i) and no progressive position in A8-9 as well as the gradual increase of the positions of the Scientific structure in order to expand it, creation of 2 new positions the A14(ii) scale and 10 new positions in the A8-10-11 scale for the year 2023.
